It’s always been amazing to me when critics say, “These
evangelical Christians are trying to cram their values down the
throats of other people.”

Of course, I want to ask this question:
“Who was it that redefined when life begins? Who is it that has
changed the way Americans think about premarital sex? Who is telling us what is decent and what is not? Who wants to dictate when and where you can pray and when you can’t? Are they not the same ones that want to decide who lives and who dies?”

We have people out there who are trying to remold and remake society in their own image, and it’s time God’s people said, “Enough is enough!”

The Boston Marathon bombing being broadcast within moments of the explosion, the manhunt for the terror suspects observed by millions worldwide as it happened—

It was reminiscent of 9/11 when many of us watched the second World Trade Center tower crumble, live, on the air.

Bible scholars used to scratch their heads and wonder about prophecies like the one in Revelation 11 which says God’s two witnesses will prophesy to the world, and all the nations will witness their destruction and see their dead bodies: Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days. Rev. 11:9

Just until recently man could not fathom how it would be possible for everyone in every nation to see these events simultaneously around the globe and witness an event as this. But as God has proved over and over again in the course of human understanding and progress, biblical prophecy is accurate!

Today’s far-reaching media is the answer —

Through computers, cell phones, the Internet, and television, we routinely see world events unfolding around us in real time … just as we have recently witnessed in Boston, North Korea, Israel, and other places where breaking news is delivered.

What a sense of hope and peace we can rest upon during such prophetic times. And how reassuring it is to know that Bible prophecy is more advanced than human technology.

God’s Word rings literally true, every time.

The Word Cuts Anyway

BIBLE MEDITATION:
“When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.” Acts 5:33

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Suppose you were on the battlefield and someone’s coming at you. You warn him, “Don’t come any further, I’ll shoot!” He answers, “I don’t believe in your gun. As a matter of fact,” he says, “I don’t believe in guns at all.” That’s not going to change anything, is it?

Likewise, the Bible is the Sword of the Spirit. Somebody may say, “Well, I don’t believe the Bible.” But it will cut him anyway! The apostles preached the Bible; and when the people heard it, they were cut to the heart. The Word cuts even an unbeliever. It’s a two-edged sword. It cuts to heal, or it cuts to judge. But it will cut—believe it or not.

Before going into battle, soldiers are dedicated to training in the use of their weapons. How foolish to go into battle without training. How familiar are you with your Sword?

ACTION POINT:
God has given you a weapon for spiritual battles…the Sword of the Spirit. In the armor of God, it is the only offensive weapon—the rest are defensive. To have the victory God wants for you, you must see the sharpness of your sword, the Bible, and you must be trained in it.
